.) Portland Blazers: This is a solid all around team. They have a great center and point guard and 3 great scoring options with each over 20ppg. The only thing that could prevent them from reaching the ship would be their lack of experience. They do a very good job rebounding the ball as they are 3rd in the country. TJ Ford does an extremely good job distributing the ball as they are 4th in the country in assists.
.) Cleveland Cavaliers: My pick to win the east as they have the best center in the east, a very good defensive pf, and 2 good scorers although neither r producing at what they should be. As a team, they do a poor job scoring the ball and rebounding the ball as they r only in the middle of the league. But they r tops in the league when it comes to preventing turnovers and having the stingiest defense.
.) Sacramento Kings: They have a solid starting 5, but no superstar. They've got a pretty good front court when it comes to rebounding and inside scoring. Kevin Martin is doing a very good job as their best option, but as a team they aren't overly impressive when they have the ball. They've been riding their defense so far and I don't know how much longer they can do that with success.
.) Utah Jazz: They've got a pretty good balanced team with 4 people who can all score, and score well. Diop and Boozer, both can control the paint and tear down the boards and nobody can stop Williams from dishing out the assists. They've got a top 5 offense and they r best at rebounding. They've also got a solid defense, so look for this team to possibly crash the party come championship time.
.) Boston Celtics: They've got a very powerful offense with 3 extremely good options in the wade, t-mac, and jamison. All 5 starters r able to rebound well as well as play strong defense. Boston may have the strongest 5 starters, which will be key as the playoffs come around, but their bench has some question marks.
.) Phoenix Suns: Amare is playing extremely well with 30ppg and 12rpg. Hibbert is also playing well as he almost averages a double double. As a team, they r a top 10 offense mainly because they are best at not turning the ball over. They do lack the ability to rebound the ball however and they let their opponents control the boards.
.) Minnesota Timberwolves: Al Jefferson and KG can control the paint if they want, but those 2 are the only true defensive stoppers on this team. They do, at least, have 3 very good options. Telfair doesn't put up very impressive numbers as a point guard, but he's the best they have.
